U.S and Canada

WARNING You need to check your firmware version before you use any of the Pioneer4 files. If your firmwae is lower then 1.30 you use Pioneer4.zip other wise you use Pioneer4(1.30).zip
How to check for what firmware version your DVR has do the following:
Via the remote, from the Home Menu, go to Initial Setup, then select Audio Out, select Digital Out, highlight the "On" setting (i.e. don´t click enter just make sure it is highlighted), then press the Angle button, the firmware versions are now shown

Procedure to replace a failed or corrupted hard drive is now integrated in the Guide. Download the English version above, version 3.8.
Part 4 was written for use on a computer using two IDE drives, since then many more computer configurations have arrived on the scene. Linux recognizes IDE drives as hda, hdb, etc. SATA drives and USB drives are recognized as sda, sdb, etc. That leaves Procedure 4 open to some interpretation, if you were to connect a SATA drive as the slave drive, it would be sdb and you would have to modify the command line in the procedure to reflect that. Since computers are constantly upgraded with new devices, it would be very difficult to list all those variations in Part 4. The important thing is knowing your own drive configuration and correctly labeling the drives when using the dd command.
